So, I Worked Today
In response to my previous post, today I am still in a preparation phase of a new project and continued my… work.
I’ve found more merchants that automatically approved my application to their affiliate program. The website is ready, I started to add more content to it, I need to build some links and drive traffic now. As soon as all is well rolling, I’ll put it here the website.
As a rule of blogging : frequency is something I can’t escape from, so I post here once a day (now) and just blogged at Internet Marketing Trip too.
I also just remembered I had to add Google Analytics to all the new websites I have created. For those who don’t know, Analytics is a tool which allows you to track traffic on your website. You know from which page your visitors came from, where did they click, what keywords lead them there.
Of course it gives you the number of visits and page views, and where are your visitors from. Analytics is free to join, so don’t hesitate it’s really useful. You will learn what your visitors like and then it’s much easier to improve yout website.
No commentsDid I Work Today ?
There are some times you feel you didn’t work at all. You did some few things but results are not immediate and you think you didn’t achieve anything.
It happened today for me.
- I blogged about article marketing at imtrip.com,
- I blogged on another topic on a new website too,
- I did some keyword research for this same new website,
- I wrote down few ideas,
- I tested a new Adwords campaign (just entered keywords, build an ad and see traffic and cost estimations) - want to be ready for the Christmas rush,
- I updated affiliate links another website,
- I finally join Commission Junction, I almost joined all the other big networks and am not sure why I didn’t get in earlier. Plus there is a CJ France, that’s cool.
- I emailed TradeDoubler to become an international affiliate. Yeah, there is a TradeDoubler France too, but
mostall of my websites are in english. - I re-joined Amazon affiliate program. I did a long time ago but never used it, so I wanted to start from the start and ask them to close my current account, and today opened a new one.
- I am writing this post
Well, all these things are little things, and don’t bring any results. Of course these things will be useful for the next days, but there is a feeling of “I can’t get no satisfaction” that stays in mind.
What is the purpose of this post ? I’d say it is to give advice : Focus on your goals, all the things you are doing seriously for your business (or any project) are useful. Even if some errors occur, you’ll learn from them.
Be patient, and the effort you’ll put in your work will pay.
No commentsPlease, Make The Dollar Stronger For Christmas
That would be a nice gift for me. You see, most of the websites I made are in english, and most of the offers I promote are from US merchants or at least paid in USD. This wouldn’t be a problem if we were back in 2002.
At this time, we, Europe people, just switch from our national currency to the Euro and $1 = 1Euro. It’s not true anymore. The Euro is very strong and kept getting higher versus the dollar, or maybe it’s the dollar that gets lower, and I think it’s even both. The European economy seems going better than the US one.
The currency is just one reflect of the economy and, well, I’m not an economy analyst so I’ll stop figuring why and how it happened (I’ve read newspapers and watched TV news). At the exact time I’m writing these words $1 = 0.67 €. Ouch ! 5 years earlier I would not have to do the math to know how much I earned.
This last week has been very profitable to me and I saw one product I’m promoting bringing me more than $1000, and sales are still coming. What a great news I said, then I just thought about the dollar/euro rate.
Since the payment of these commissions should be in my paypal account around the 20th of December, requesting a transfer should make the funds in my bank account close to Christmas.
So PLEASE, Santa, hear my prayer, make the dollar stronger for Christmas !
No commentsDon’t Buy The iPhone - It Sucks
So for those who don’t know : I’m French, and the iPhone will be available the 29th of November here (4 days left) .
First TV commercial is running and I can’t prevent myself from thinking about one of the greatest article ever written online. Please don’t think it’s just about flaming Apple, cause the author also does it for Microsoft too.
Here is the article original page : The iPhone is a Piece of Shit and so is Your Face
It’s just a review in direct and explicit words, comparing the Apple last toy and the Nokia E70. But for internet marketers this is also an excellent example of buzz marketing, if you check Digg, it’s been dugg more than 15′000.
No doubt words can bring traffic, it’s a “How to make people talk about you” proof.
So, if you didn’t understand the article : buy a Nokia E70, it’s cheaper and better, the iPhone sucks. (Personally, I want the Sony Ericsson K810i, or K850i).
No commentsBuilding Mini Sites to Make Money
I blogged at Internet Marketing Trip about a post I’ve read few months ago on SelfMadeMinds. It is about building mini sites that make maxi money.
Basically, you find an idea and build a one page website around it. Drive traffic to it and get AdSense running on your page. You could also add banners for affiliate programs and if you’re great at SEO, some companies pay a decent amount of money for impressions. TribalFusion.

This is a video my brother sent me a few days ago. It made me laugh so I hope you will too. You know the “don’t drink and drive” thing ? It works also there.
1 commentHello world!
Hi, welcome to this personal/professional mixed blog. My name is Thomas Leroy, I’m French, 25, working at home as an internet marketer. That’s it. You know me. Okay, not really.
I launched my online home business a few months ago, I love that, the idea and fact to make money online, from home, is cool. Yeah I know, some may think it’s a job that isolate myself from others, and I could lose my social life but that’s not totally true. (at least I know it, so I’m not lost !)
Yeah, lot of people I talk with are online too, but my vision is not short-term, but long-term and my goal is to get lots of free time in a few months, so I can get my eyes off of my screen a lot more and do some kind of maintenance for my business.
We all want some kind of wealth, but I don’t pretend to become rich in the common way we almost all see it : cash. As long as I can pay my bills and live a decent lifestyle, I’ll be happy. Of course if life brings me more than I hope, I will accept it.
So I said this is a personal and professional blog, actually, this one is a more a personal one, but since my everyday job is based on a computer, my personal thoughts are also professional ones.
Well we’re not getting really far, so maybe I should say that I also have another blog, more professional about making money online with internet marketing : Internet Marketing Trip. This is more pro, but I am myself there too, you don’t need a suit and a tie to comment this.
If you want a mix of everything, some of the few ideas and stories I can share, funny videos and pictures or internet marketing experiences then bienvenue à TomLeroy.com.
What more can I say, maybe “lahup, barbatruc” and work hard, play hard, love more, have fun, die happy.
