Just Starting? Take This Blogging Challenge
You decided it was time to start blogging, you even have already installed WordPress or joined medium.
Awesome steps you’ve taken.
You’re in a position of letting the world about you. About the good you want to do and bring to their lives.
But then… there’s this little resistance.
The feeling starts in your throat maybe, it’s like a little constriction.
If you listen carefully you may even hear your heart beating hard in your rib cage.
This is fear.
And eventually, it will end up with procrastination. You are scared of what others are going to think and you won’t publish anything
You may write something and not hit the publish button.
“Somebody already wrote about that. And they’re veteran blogger, copywriters…” you think.
Well it’s been done before, sure. But you haven’t done it before.
And that’s your unique advantage. Well, it’s the unique advantage of everyone then.
But your angle, your story, your words and approach will convey different emotions.
They may lead to better actions than someone else that is too well recognized and don’t even need to write high class content.
They assume their name is just enough to attract readers, and they’re right (woohoo, more views!).
Their message is true, accurate, but not helpful for you. And if not helpful for you, it’s certainly not helpful to someone else.
Because you understood what they said, but they should have said it better.
And here you come.
Later will come the art of writing well. Excellent copy. For now, focus on shitty first drafts.
You will learn how to writing to delight your readers after you actually start writing.
Many of my posts are not excellent and need more structure, and polish and clarification… The time is not now.
Why?
Because if you get lost in learning how to craft the perfect content, blogging or creative writing or whatever form you want to give it, you’re not writing.
There will always be some new piece of knowledge you think you need to get first. WRONG!
So here’s the challenge:
- Write you first blog post, and publish it.
That’s it. I don’t care what to write and how long it will be. I don’t care about the topic.
You can even make an introduction post about yourself if you don’t have any other idea. Or say whay you would like to blog about in the future. And what you want to learn. Or document something.
You may even post about your fear of blogging, and any reason why. You’ll see how smart are these reasons 😉
Trust me, once you’ll publish about your fears and why, you’ll soon be able to blog about anything. Not only that, the solution may even appear right in front of you.
Challenge sum up:
- Publish one post on your blog.
Yeah there is one step.
Want a bonus challenge:
Blog once a day for 30 days.
Does it look super simple? It’s the purpose of it 😉
And then come back here and tell me about it in your comments.
